Reminting Refik Anadol’s Quantum Memories on Ethereum

March 28, 2024
Vinciane Jones

Koenig Galerie joins forces with Verisart to help collectors exchange Flow NFTs for Ethereum NFTs.

Quantum Memories

The first works to be included in the re-issue are Refik Anadol’s Quantum Memories: Noise series. The pieces are inspired by the many-worlds interpretation in quantum physics – a theory that holds that there are many parallel worlds that exist in the same space and time as our own. They use Google Quantum AI’s cutting-edge quantum research data and algorithms to explore the possibility of a parallel world. These data and algorithms allow Anadol to envision alternative realities inside the most sophisticated computer available.

How will it work?

The three works all originally sold as open editions on misa.art will be reminted by König Galerie from June 30. Collectors will be notified by email about how to exchange their NFTs. The process involves first burning their original Flow NFT. Within 48 hours, they will receive an email to claim their new Ethereum NFT.

Following a link to König’s online store, collectors access their personal NFT Dashboard where they can remint the work on Ethereum free of charge. The new NFT (ERC-721) is minted directly to the collector’s own wallet. It has the same edition number as the original. The new NFTs are available on OpenSea immediately and collectors can list them for sale on any open NFT marketplace.

Collectors who own works from Quantum Memories: Noise should look out for another announcement in the coming weeks and reminting to kick off on June 30. If you purchased one of these NFTs from another collector, please get in touch with digital@koeniggalerie.com. Remints for other artists including Erwin Wurm and Katharine Grosse will be announced soon.
