Event observations: This rare event was met with mostly cloudy skies to start the day but a few breaks would reveal the eclipse. Unfortunately, totality at 3:18 p.m. was completely cloud cover. You could feel the temperature drop and and the surrounding area slowly dim to complete darkness for over two minutes. The party was over and the drive home on the QEW took hours as other observes made their exit from the region.
