Puzzling Mao (+) _ 1/1 nft video _ Puzzling Pop series _ 2021
This video is made of 21 image / stills. To create every single still I utilized 1.225 photographic tiles of butterfly wing details. It was utilized as matrix to be reworked the same original photo of Mao Zedong used by Andy Warhol for the creation of his "Mao" works.
Using the same collection of around 4.000 photographic tiles of butterfly wing details that I combined to create the physical printed works in the “Puzzling Pop”series, I made short video animations in which some of the Warhol subjects I chose for the “Puzzling Pop” works are dynamically reworked in this work by replacing for each still a part of the tiles making up the animation.
The musical part has been elaborated by an Italian musician Leo di Angilla who, through the use of electronic and percussion instruments, has given rhythm and melody to these sequences of images completing the work.
