Flying flamingos is part of Noravisionsolar series, painted on the decommissioned solar panels, all using modules of 164 x 100 x 4 cm dimensions, started at 2018, which thematically covers all classical genres - portraits, flowers - still lifes, landscapes, seascapes and vedutas - urban environments.
This particular one is dedicated to my father, mathematician and physicist Lovrenc Picman, as the bouquet was offered for his birthday on 8 th October 2021, which was actually his last one ( passed away on 11 th August 2922).
There is already some allusion to the transcendence and transformation, symbolically expressed by deep blue sky and red colored flamingo flowers, offered to him by my youngest son Aron. Rich red, symbolically linked to pouring blood, is present all over the painting, flowers flying around towards the sky like birds.
Painting connects to the concept of Vanitas, éphémère and passing by, often used in classical still lifes.
Numbered edition enables spreading idea and memory in smaller accessible artworks wider.
