'Smiling Through The Pain'

I created this painting in the peak of Covid and the mask mandate. It had been months since I'd seen someone smile since everyone was wearing masks. So I went completely out of character and painted the biggest, loudest smile. Yet there is a sense of seriousness and despair in the peace. Showing that the subject is staying optimistic during dark times. This image mirrored a lot of emotions I was going through during the Lockdown.
