Swim upstream, they never tire
To remind us of abundance untold

Of the journey, so challenging and long
But with determination and willpower strong
They reach the top, to spawn and thrive
A symbol of perseverance, and to strive.

With every obstacle, comes a reward
And the koi, with their beauty adored
