Lauren Lee McCarthy’s ambitious ongoing project Saliva Exchange (2022-ongoing) offers a unique platform for trading saliva. It challenges traditional notions of power and stimulates discussions around privacy, genetics, and social interaction, questioning body politics and ownership. Evolving into diverse formats such as mail-order kits and live performances, it has become a globally distributed experience.
