Standing Bodhisattva
Description

With the hips gently swayed in a traditional posture inherited from Indian tradition, the standing bodhisattva is represented in a hieratic pose. He wears princely jewels; a heavy pectoral necklace, earrings set with pearls, bracelets and a long triple necklace falling to the middle of the torso. Framed with a halo, the face features traditional Buddhist attributes; the half-closed eyes, the mouth hinting to a discreet smile and the elongated earlobes. He wears ample clothes with folded drapery inspired from Greco-Roman statuary. The finely sculpted feet stand on a plinth decorated with geometric motifs
