Unfolding Humanity is an interactive metal, wood, and acrylic sculpture. Rising 12 feet tall with an 18-foot wingspan, the unfolding dodecahedron is externally skinned with black panels containing 2240 acrylic windows, illuminated by more than 16,000 LEDs that are driven by 20 programmed microcontrollers.
