From the series of works "Peles" (Skins), this work is part of an ongoing research of the ancient practice of drawing on different types of skins. This material was chosen as the artist had the opportunity of exploring the diversity of manuscripts and techniques applied over pergamenas, leathers or goat skins, since the early ages. In the artist's body of work, one may find clear traces and references attributed to human primary instincts when confronting the needs of expression and creativity. Daniela Antonelli's works comprise drawings, sculptures and installations, involving basic concepts such as dots, lines and chromatic impressions, and organic materials such as leathers, stones, pure cotton or rice handmade papers.
