This piece was one that was created during the Black Lives Matters protests. It was based on acceptance. I named it 'She Can Lead', because black women have almost always had to present themselves a certain way to be visually acceptable and beautiful. I purposefully designed her with cornrows, wearing a high-end garment so that the viewer could connect the idea that black women with cornrows are still beautiful, and cornrows on black women are acceptable, and can look incredible in high-end pieces.
