Ilze Helgeland
Wall Socket Renaissance
Description

This is one of the painting from Ilze Helgeland's series Nostalgia.
"Her latest work is about daily, and sometimes trivial things that we start to forget. Time is elusive and as time passes it seems that the old technology also becomes a contemporary element of our lives. Her intention is to make these objects visible again, and honour them in retrospect. At the same time Ilze Helgeland is trying to tell the story of time that is slipping away and how these items are gradually disappearing from our apprehension. They are in a way becoming abstract. She is in a constant search for new compositions and challenges. The process of finding the balance between shapes, lines, and free space on the canvas keeps her art changing and developing."
