Title: FLARE
Description:
In this piece, I wanted to capture a moment of transformation and introspection. The central female figure is shrouded in shadows, yet illuminated by a powerful energy that seems to radiate from within her. The dark, almost ethereal background represents an internal struggle, while the swirling lines of light that surround her symbolize the expansion of consciousness and personal energy. It’s a reflection on how we navigate the forces that shape our inner worlds.
Colors and Techniques:
I worked primarily with a monochromatic palette, allowing the contrast of light and dark to set the tone. The vibrant streaks of blue, purple, and white were deliberately placed to create a sense of movement and energy. I wanted these lines to feel alive, almost like they are swirling around her in a dynamic dance. The combination of photography and digital illustration techniques helped me achieve this balance between the real and the surreal, creating a futuristic yet deeply emotional image.
Message:
For me, this artwork delves into themes of internal transformation, emotional resonance, and the invisible forces that shape our psyche. The figure is caught between dimensions of herself, a visual metaphor for the process of introspection and spiritual awakening. I wanted to convey the feeling of being in a liminal space, between stillness and motion, where we confront our deepest selves.
Presentation:
When displayed on a metallic panel, the interaction between light and shadow becomes even more pronounced. I imagine this piece with a glossy finish, where the lines of light shimmer and shift depending on the angle of view. It’s designed to have a powerful presence in any room, and with the right lighting, those vibrant streaks of color would seem to come alive, drawing viewers into the emotional core of the work.
This piece is deeply personal, but I hope it resonates with others who have felt the tension between internal stillness and the forces that propel us forward. It’s an exploration of the invisible energies that move us, even when we stand perfectly still.
